CourseGraphic This course is intended to familiarize the student with the basic mathematical and electrical concepts necessary to understand the function of various components utilized in motor control circuits; pilot devices, relays, contactors, motor starters, motors electromechanical timing relays, electronic components and variable frequency drives (VFDs). The lab assignments are designed to facilitate the wiring, electrical practices (using appropriate hand tools, connectors, wire termination and routing) and utilizing standard test equipment to identify a functional or faulty component/circuit. This class is designed as a stand-alone study or as a pre-requisite to the Industrial PLC class.  Total cost of course includes Textbook fee of $121 and a Lab fee of $75.
