CourseGraphic This course offers didactic and practical training in critical thinking skills, crisis intervention, emergency scene management, proper recognition and management of medical emergencies, trauma patient care and general ambulance operations.

Course methods of instruction have been re-formatted to prepare graduates for future paramedic education. Curriculum is in accordance with the State of Ohio Division of EMS with testing by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. 


Admission Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED/Enrollment in Adult Diploma Program through CVCC
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Successful completion of ACT WorkKeys pre-entrance assessment

All Emergency Medical Technicican-Basic students are required to take the ACT WorkKeys assessment before starting the program.  For more information or to schedule a time for the assessment, call 440-746-8230.

Tuition includes: State practice test, AHA Healthcare Provider CPR training, all course books, clinical fees, insurance coverage and uniform shirt. NREMT exam fee not included in tuition. Additional EMT online testing fee of $49.00 due the first week of class. 

Some Saturdays may be included in the class schedule with advanced notice.
