The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning program includes a series of courses that will provide the essential foundational knowledge in preparation for a career as an HVAC Technician. Curriculum emphasizes immersive, hands-on activities and problem-solving skills, and prepares students for the CFC Section 608 Certification.
- High School Diploma/GED/Enrollment in Adult Diploma Program through CVCC
- Valid Government Issued I.D.
- Completion of prerequisite(s) courses to move on to next class or instructor approval
This program requires that a student completed HVAC Basic before progressing to Cooling, Heating, or Basic Electric unless approval is granted by instructor to skip
. All other components but then be completed, prior to enrollment in the Certification Prep course. Additional Certification Proctoring dates are determined based on enrollment.
The tuition for HVAC Basic, Heating, Cooling, and Basic Electrical is $775.00 per course with a $160.0 0textbook cost to be paid when beginning HVAC Basic. Students will use the same textbook for all of the courses in this program so this is a one-time expense but must be paid for upon registration
. Each of these courses can be paid for either up front or in two part payment plans. The HVAC Basic program payment plan includes the textbook in the first payment, making it $547 for the first payment and the second $387. The courses after that will be split $387 first and $388 second, with the exception for the Certification Prep which is one payment of $253.00. Full program tuition through the Section 608 Exam is $3,512.00
Additional certification exams are also available to be proctored at CVCC following the HVAC program. The HVAC-NATE Heating and Cooling Support Technician Certificate exam is $150.00 and covers the exam and a study guide. The HVAC NATE CORE Exam Certification is $350.00. Exams must be registered for at least two weeks prior to the exam dates.
